Address books and CSV import

Address books organize the recipients of your campaigns. In SendApp Cloud you create contact groups, import them from CSV and export them when you need to, and you can save custom parameters to use in your messages.

Before you start

  • A SendApp Cloud account
  • A CSV file with your contacts (for the import)

Contact groups

Contacts are organized into groups (address books). You select a group as the recipient when you create a campaign. Keep your groups tidy and relevant: more targeted sends mean fewer unsubscribes and less risk.

Importing from CSV

  1. 1

    Open Contacts → Import

Choose or create the group to import into.

  2. 2

    Upload the CSV

One row per contact, with the number in international format (e.g. +39…).

  3. 3

    Map the columns

Indicate which column is the number and which are the additional parameters (e.g. name).

  4. 4

    Confirm

The contacts are added to the group.

Custom parameters (merge tags)

Besides the number, you can save parameters (e.g. name, city) and use them in your messages to personalize them. A message personalized with the customer's name gets better responses.

Always use the international prefix in numbers (e.g. +39): without it, numbers may turn out to be invalid when sending.
