The ready-to-use alternative to Twilio, with no per-message fee

Twilio is an API infrastructure for developers that adds $0.005 to every WhatsApp message, even inbound. SendApp is the ready-made platform: campaigns, inbox and AI from €19/month, with direct Meta rates.

Twilio is the benchmark CPaaS giant: programmable APIs for SMS, voice and WhatsApp, named a Leader in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant. It's built for developers: you pay as you go, and the interface — campaigns, inbox, bots — you build yourself, or you add the Flex contact center at $150 per user per month. On WhatsApp it applies a $0.005 fee per message, inbound and outbound, on top of the Meta rates it passes on to you, plus $0.001 on failed messages. Data verified in June 2026 on the public pages.

Where Twilio makes you pay more (or makes your life harder)

A markup on every message, even inbound

Twilio's WhatsApp fee is $0.005 per message, inbound and outbound, on top of Meta rates. On 20,000 messages a month (sent + received) that's $100 in platform fees alone; even failed messages cost $0.001 each.

It's an API, not a ready-made platform

Twilio sells the Programmable Messaging API, the Conversations API and SDKs with code samples: to get campaigns, an inbox and chatbots you need a development team to build and maintain them. No marketing dashboard included.

The 'ready-made' inbox is called Flex, and it's pricey

Twilio's contact center starts at $150 per named user per month, or $1 per active user hour. A team of 3 operators costs more than $450/month, before a single message is even sent.

No Italian

Site, console and documentation come in English, French, German, Japanese, Portuguese and Spanish: Italian isn't there. Support is handled in English.

Why people who compare choose SendApp

Up and running in 5 minutes, no developers

With SendApp you connect your number via QR (Cloud) or the official API (Official) and launch your first campaign from the dashboard. With Twilio the same thing takes weeks of development and ongoing maintenance.

Zero per-message fees

WhatsApp conversations are billed by Meta directly: SendApp adds nothing. With Twilio every message, even the ones you receive, costs an extra $0.005.

Inbox, campaigns and AI already included

What you'd have to build on Twilio (or buy with Flex at $150/user) — shared inbox, bulk campaigns, trainable AI chatbot — is included in SendApp from €19/month.

Support in Italian

No English-language tickets to a giant with thousands of enterprise customers: assistance in Italian, included in the plan.
