Account security and 2FA

Your SendApp account holds your customers' conversations and contacts: protecting it matters. Beyond a good password, you can enable two-factor authentication (2FA), which adds a second code at sign-in.

Before you start

  • A SendApp Agent account
  • For TOTP: an authenticator app (e.g., Google Authenticator, Authy)

Strong password

Use a long, unique password, not reused elsewhere. You can change it from your profile settings. If you manage a team, remember that each operator has their own credentials (see "Operators and permissions").

Enable 2FA

2FA is optional (opt-in) and is enabled from your account's login/authentication settings. You can choose between two methods:

Authenticator app (TOTP)
You generate the codes from an app like Google Authenticator or Authy. During setup you scan a QR code with the app: from then on, at each sign-in you enter the 6-digit code the app generates.
Code via WhatsApp (OTP)
Alternatively, you receive a one-time code via WhatsApp at each sign-in, which you enter to complete the login.

    Open the login/authentication settings

    Look for the section dedicated to your account's security/access.

    Choose the 2FA method

    Select authenticator app (TOTP) or code via WhatsApp.

    Complete the setup

    For TOTP, scan the QR with the app and confirm with the first code. For OTP via WhatsApp, verify the number that will receive the codes.

With TOTP, keep a recovery method (e.g., the backup codes if provided) in a safe place: if you lose access to your authenticator app, you'll need them to get back in.

Common errors

The TOTP code isn't accepted
It's usually the phone's clock being out of sync: TOTP codes depend on the time. Enable automatic time on your device.
I'm not receiving the OTP on WhatsApp
Check that the number set for codes is correct and reachable on WhatsApp.
