WhatsApp Marketing Glossary

WhatsApp business profile

The WhatsApp business profile is the public card associated with a business number: business name, image, description, industry category, address, hours, website and email. Customers view it by tapping the chat name, and it is the first trust signal for the number. On numbers connected to the API, the profile is managed via software, without the app on a phone.

The profile is your business card inside the app: when a customer receives the first message or looks up the number, a complete card with logo, description and website communicates that there's a real business on the other side. The available fields: image, name, category, description, address, hours, email and website. On the API there's also the display name question: the displayed name requires consistency with the brand and Meta's approval.

Polishing it is a short job with long-lasting effects: a logo recognizable even at the avatar's small size, a description that says what the business does and what the customer can ask in chat, a website and contact details consistent with the other public channels. The common mistakes: profiles without an image, empty descriptions and wrong categories, which breed distrust at the exact moment the customer is deciding whether to reply to an unknown number.

By connecting your number to SendApp through the official API, you manage your business profile's conversations from a shared dashboard, keeping the brand's name and identity towards customers.
