E-commerce integration
E-commerce integration is the technical link between an online store and a messaging platform, built through APIs, webhooks or plugins. Store events, such as a new order, a shipment or an abandoned cart, automatically trigger messages to the customer; in the opposite direction, data collected in chat enriches customer records. It eliminates the manual work of copying information between systems.
The most common flows cover the order life cycle and the relationship: order confirmation and shipping updates as transactional notifications; abandoned cart recovery; a review request once delivery is complete; a reorder proposal for consumable products. In the opposite direction, conversations feed the store: data collected in chat updates the customer record and tags segment the audience for later campaigns.
Technically, integration goes through three routes: ready-made plugins for popular platforms, automation connectors that link events and actions without code, or direct integration via API and webhooks for full control. The checks to make first: which store events are exposed, how the customer is reconciled between the two systems, usually via phone number, and where consents and unsubscribes are tracked.
With SendApp's APIs and webhooks, you connect your e-commerce store to send order confirmations, shipping updates and cart recoveries on WhatsApp automatically, with the customer's data in the template variables.
