WhatsApp catalog
The WhatsApp catalog is the showcase of products and services attached to a business account's profile: each item has a photo, name, price, description and link. Customers browse it inside WhatsApp, can ask about a specific item and, where the feature is active, build a cart and send it to the business as an order directly in the chat.
The catalog is managed from the WhatsApp Business app or from Meta's Commerce Manager for API accounts, including synchronization from product feeds. Individual items are shared in chat as product messages, with image and price; multi-product messages display a selection of the catalog. When the customer writes starting from a product, the business sees the item reference in the conversation.
Catalog items must comply with Meta's Commerce Policy, which bans categories such as weapons, prescription drugs and other regulated products; violations lead to item removal or account restrictions. The in-chat cart doesn't handle payment in most countries: collection happens through payment links or external channels. For many small businesses, the catalog replaces a small e-commerce site.
In conversations managed with SendApp, the AI agent can be trained on price lists and product sheets, walking the customer from the question about an item all the way to the order with a payment link.
