WhatsApp green tick
The WhatsApp green tick is the verification badge that identifies a business's official account on WhatsApp and indicates that Meta has confirmed its authenticity. Historically green, the badge is now shown in blue, in line with the Meta Verified program, but in everyday language it is still called the green tick. It applies to the business number associated with the brand.
The badge appears next to the business name in the chat screen and on the profile. For verified accounts, WhatsApp shows the business name even if the user hasn't saved the number in their address book — a concrete advantage in recognition and trust. Verification was historically granted by Meta at its own discretion to well-known companies; today the main route is the Meta Verified subscription for businesses, where available.
The recurring requirements are a verified business in Business Manager, a display name consistent with the brand and a business with a verifiable public presence. The badge doesn't change sending rules: templates, the 24-hour window, limits and quality rating stay the same. It does, however, increase perceived trustworthiness, reduces the risk of messages being mistaken for phishing and generally improves campaign response rates.
SendApp assists Official customers through the Meta business verification process, a prerequisite for requesting the badge; once obtained, the tick applies to the number connected to the platform.
